Cécile Barraud de Lagerie (FR/BE) is a textile designer and colourist. On top of that she practices visual arts, predominately painting.
She was also our 2018 Curious Resident. “L’eau du ciel” is a selection of her colour research, a large part of which was done in May 2018 during her trip aboard the CMA CGM White Shark, a container freighter that went from Antwerp to Miami.
While crossing the Atlantic Ocean, Cécile Barraud de Lagerie absorbed this unique environment and the constantly changing light and colours to paint and draw.
This exhibition will also be an opportunity for her to present her leporello (a pretty word for “accordion”) of abstract landscapes, created as an extension to her research and printed on risography.
